The 1 Franc banknote issued by the Paris Chamber of Commerce, dated March 10, 1920, belongs to series A.71. This banknote features ornamental plant motifs, incorporating a winged caduceus positioned in the left medallion. The right medallion displays a representation of the head of Mercury.
The Latin inscriptions on the front of the banknote include the mention "CHAMBRE de COMMERCE de PARIS", as well as the indication of the face value "UN FRANC". The series is identified by "A.71" and a control number "051.191". The signature "G. FRAIPONT" indicates the name of the designer, Gustave Fraipont, while "IMP CHAIX PARIS" specifies the printer, Imprimerie Chaix of Paris.
The back of the banknote offers a view of the Île de la Cité. A medallion, surrounded by plant motifs, displays a ship. The inscriptions indicate that the banknotes in circulation were exchangeable for Banque de France banknotes until July 1, 1922, in accordance with a deliberation of the Paris Chamber of Commerce dated March 10, 1920. The face value "1" is also present.
The banknote does not have a watermark. The printer is Imprimerie Chaix, located in Paris, France, which was in operation from 1845 to 1965.
