This 1 franc banknote was issued by the Chamber of Commerce of Montluçon-Gannat, with ministerial authorization dated December 6, 1917.
The obverse of the banknote features the inscription "CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE DE MONTLUÇON - GANNAT" at the top, followed by the mention of the ministerial authorization of December 6, 1917. The face value "UN FRANC" is indicated in the central position. The signatures of the Treasurer and the President are affixed below. The banknote bears Series B, followed by a six-digit identification number. The name of the printers "HERBIN & BOUCHÉ MONTLUÇON" appears at the bottom of the obverse.
The reverse of the banknote repeats the inscription "CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE DE MONTLUÇON - GANNAT" at the top, followed by the indication of the ministerial authorization of December 6, 1917. The text specifies that the banknote had to be presented for reimbursement within five years from December 6, 1917. The name of the printers, "Fernand Herbin & Henri Bouché Imprimeurs, Montluçon, France", is mentioned at the bottom of the reverse.
