This 1 franc banknote was issued by the Chamber of Commerce of Montluçon-Gannat, France, following ministerial authorization on October 5, 1915. The banknote belongs to Series B.
On the obverse, the words "CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE DE MONTLUÇON - GANNAT" can be read at the top of the banknote. Below, it says "Autorisation ministérielle du 5 octobre 1915". The face value, "UN FRANC", is clearly indicated. The signatures of the Treasurer and the President also appear, followed by the series designation "Série B" and the number "103172". The printer's name, "HERBIN & BOUCHÉ MONTLUÇON", is mentioned at the bottom of the banknote.
The reverse of the banknote repeats the words "CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE DE MONTLUÇON - GANNAT" as well as "Autorisation ministérielle du 5 octobre 1915". An important indication specifies that the banknote had to be presented for reimbursement within five years from October 10, 1915. The printer's name, "Fernand Herbin & Henri Bouché Imprimeurs, Montluçon, France", is also repeated.
The inscriptions are written in Latin. The printer of this banknote was Fernand Herbin & Henri Bouché, located in Montluçon, France.
