The 1 franc banknote issued by the Epinal Chamber of Commerce, dated June 25, 1921, is a testament to the local French monetary issues of the time. This banknote features iconography and inscriptions specific to the issuing institution.
On the front, the mention "CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE D?ÉPINAL" appears as a header, followed by the mention of the deliberation of the Epinal Chamber of Commerce of June 25, 1921. The face value, "UN FRANC", is clearly indicated. A serial number, such as "3.424.934", is also printed on the front. The name of the printer, "NANCY-PARIS-STRASBOURG_BERGER-LEVRAULT", also appears on this side.
The back of the banknote displays the value "1" repeated on either side of a central cartouche. In this cartouche, the name of the institution "CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE D?ÉPINAL" and the year of issue "1920" are found. An important note specifies that the banknotes in circulation are exchangeable for banknotes of the Banque de France until July 1, 1923. The value "1" is again visible on each side of this cartouche.
This banknote does not have a watermark. The printing was done by Berger-Levrault, a company based in Nancy, France.
