Banknote France 1 Franc - Chambre de commerce de Lorient - 1915 - Série A

This 50 centime note was issued by the Lorient Chamber of Commerce in 1915, as part of Series A. The obverse of the note features a central oval integrated into a frame adorned with geometric and plant motifs. A heraldic shield is visible at each corner of the frame, as well as an additional shield positioned at the top of the note. On either side of a crowned ermine spot, two other heraldic shields are depicted.

The Latin inscriptions on the obverse include the mention of the "Lorient (Morbihan) Chamber of Commerce", as well as the issue date of September 3, 1915. The face value, "BON DE 50 CENTIMES", is clearly indicated, followed by the series "Série A" and a specific serial number. The signatures of the President and Vice-Presidents of the Lorient Chamber of Commerce are also reproduced. The name of the printer, "OBERTHUR - RENNES", also appears on this side.

The reverse of the note features a central oval inserted into a frame decorated with plant motifs. The Latin inscriptions include the face value repeated several times ("0.50f") and a clause specifying that the bonds issued by the Lorient Chamber of Commerce will be exchanged for banknotes from the Banque de France in batches of twenty or multiples of twenty. It is also specified that their reimbursement is guaranteed by a deposit of equal value at the Banque de France, in the name of the Lorient Chamber of Commerce.

The note incorporates a watermark representing a bee, adding an element of security and authenticity to the document.
