This 50-centime note was issued by the Chamber of Commerce of Lorient, in the Morbihan department, France, on September 3, 1915.
The front of the note features an oval motif framed by geometric and plant designs. Heraldic shields appear in the four corners of the frame. Two other heraldic shields are placed on either side of a crowned ermine spot, located at the top of the motif. The words "CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE DE LORIENT (MORBIHAN)" appear in an arc above the oval. The inscription "ÉMISSION DU 3 Septembre 1915" is printed below this mention. In the center of the oval, we can read "BON DE 50 CENTIMES". The signature of the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Lorient and those of the Vice-Presidents are also present. The name of the printer, "OBERTHUR - RENNES", appears at the bottom of the note.
The back of the note features an oval motif framed by plant motifs. The inscription "0.50f" is repeated four times inside the oval. A text specifies that the vouchers issued by the Chamber of Commerce of Lorient will be exchanged upon presentation in twenties or multiples of twenties, against banknotes of the Banque de France. It is also mentioned that their reimbursement is guaranteed by a deposit of equal value at the Banque de France, in the name of the Chamber of Commerce of Lorient.
The note does not have a watermark.
