Banknote France 1 Franc - Chambre de commerce de Lorient - 1915

This 50 centime banknote was issued by the Chamber of Commerce of Lorient (Morbihan) on September 3, 1915. It is a voucher, with the serial number 63628.

On the front, the banknote features a central oval inserted into a frame adorned with geometric and plant motifs. Heraldic shields are placed in the four corners as well as on the upper part of the frame. On either side of a crowned ermine spot, there are two other heraldic shields. The inscription "CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE DE LORIENT (MORBIHAN)" appears at the top of the central motif, followed by the inscription "ÉMISSION DU 3 Septembre 1915". The value "BON DE 50 CENTIMES" is clearly indicated. The signatures of the President and Vice-Presidents of the Chamber of Commerce of Lorient are also present. The inscription "OBERTHUR - RENNES" is printed at the bottom of the banknote.

The back of the banknote features a central oval inside a frame decorated with plant motifs. The nominal value "0.50f" is repeated four times around the oval. A text specifies that the vouchers issued by the Chamber of Commerce of Lorient will be exchanged for banknotes of the Bank of France in lots of twenty or multiples of twenty. It also indicates that their reimbursement is guaranteed by a deposit of equal value at the Bank of France, in the name of the Chamber of Commerce of Lorient.
