This 1 Franc note was issued by the Lorient Chamber of Commerce in 1915. It is a voucher issued on September 3, 1915.
The front of the note features a frame decorated with geometric and plant motifs. There is a heraldic shield at each corner of the frame, as well as an additional shield on the upper part of the note. On either side of a crowned ermine spot, there are two other heraldic shields.
The Latin inscriptions mention: "CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE DE LORIENT (MORBIHAN)", "EMISSION DU 3 SEPTEMBRE 1915" and "BON DE UN FRANC". The signature of the President of the Lorient Chamber of Commerce, as well as those of the Vice-Presidents, are also present. The name of the printer, "OBERTHUR - RENNES", is printed at the bottom of the note.
The back of the note is characterized by a frame decorated with plant motifs.
The inscriptions on the back specify that the vouchers issued by the Lorient Chamber of Commerce will be exchanged for banknotes of the Banque de France in lots of twenty or multiples of twenty. The reimbursement of these vouchers is guaranteed by a deposit of equal value at the Banque de France, in the name of the Lorient Chamber of Commerce.
