This 1 franc banknote was issued by the Bordeaux Chamber of Commerce in 1917, belonging to Series 50. It is printed in Latin script and features significant inscriptions on both sides.
On the obverse, one can read "CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE DE BORDEAUX" in capital letters, followed by the face value "UN FRANC". The signatures of the Treasurer and the President are also present, accompanied by the serial number ".00.853". The motto "QUO NON HAC DUCE" is inscribed, as well as a mention indicating that the equivalent value of these notes is deposited in the Public Treasury. The printer's name, "IMP. GOUNOUILHOU BORDEAUX", also appears on this side.
The reverse of the banknote displays the face value "1" and "UN FRANC". An inscription specifies that these notes were issued in 1917 and are redeemable at any time, but before December 31, 1923, by the public coffers of the district and at the Banque de France in Bordeaux.
The banknote incorporates a watermark representing bees. The printer responsible for the production of this banknote is Imprimerie G. Gounouilhou, located in Bordeaux, France.
