This 1 franc banknote was issued by the Belfort Chamber of Commerce in France on October 12, 1921.
The front of the banknote features a purple frame on a blue background. The face value, "un franc", is printed in blue, while "1 franc" appears in black. The main iconography depicts the Lion of Belfort in front of a building. It also includes the following inscriptions: "Chambre de commerce de Belfort", "Un franc", "Délibération du 12 octobre 1921", "1 franc" and the serial number "Série A. 005.654". The name of the printer, "E. DEVILLERS & SES FILS. GR. BELFORT", is also mentioned.
The back of the banknote features a purple frame on a blue background, with the face value "1 franc" printed in blue. An inscription specifies the redemption conditions: "These banknotes, the counter value of which is deposited in the treasury, must be presented for redemption at the public coffers in the district of the Belfort Chamber of Commerce, before December 31, 1924, unless a decision modifies this deadline." The functions of the secretary, treasurer and president are also mentioned.
