This 50 centime note, issued by the Le Mans Chamber of Commerce, dates from January 24, 1922 and belongs to the 4th series. It represents a fraction of a French franc.
On the front of the note, you can read the inscriptions "CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE DU MANS" at the top, followed by the value "UN FRANC" in capital letters. The signatures of the Treasurer and the President are also present, attesting to the validity of the note. A serial number, "130.180", is printed, as well as the initials "H.D.". The front is mainly typographic, highlighting essential information relating to the issuer and the value.
The back of the note contains important information regarding its validity and redemption. The value "1f 1f" is repeated, as well as the validity period "1922 - 1925". A statement specifies that this voucher is guaranteed by a deposit of an equivalent sum in the Treasury and that it is exchangeable for banknotes at the Banque de France in Le Mans. It is also stipulated that the note must be presented for redemption within five years before December 31, 1923, under penalty of limitation. The mention "4°Série 4°Série" is repeated, and the initials "H.D." are also present on the back.
The inscriptions are written in French, with a part in cursive writing. The text emphasizes the guarantee of the note and the conditions of its redemption, thus highlighting the confidence and security offered by the Le Mans Chamber of Commerce.
