This 1 franc banknote was issued by the Calais Chamber of Commerce in 1916. It belongs to the first replacement series of the fifth issue.
On the front, the mention "CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE DE CALAIS" is clearly visible. The face value, "UN FRANC", is also indicated. The signatures of the Treasurer and the President of the Chamber of Commerce are present. The serial number, "C. 8532", is printed. The mention "1ère Série de remplacement de la 5ème Emission" specifies the context of this issue. The name of the printer, "LITH. ROY & VALADE AMIENS", is also present.
