This one-franc banknote was issued by the Chambers of Commerce of Ajaccio and Bastia. The deliberations regarding its issuance date from April 30, 1917, and January 8, 1918. It belongs to series B.
The front of the banknote features an ornamental plant frame. On the left, a seated female figure holds a naval anchor in her right hand, the anchor resting on the ground. On the right, a ship is docked at the quay, being unloaded. A medallion adorned with a Moor's head shield is positioned in the center, in the lower part of the banknote. The inscriptions "CHAMBRES DE COMMERCE D'AJACCIO ET DE BASTIA", as well as the face value "UN FRANC" can be read. The signatures of the Presidents and Treasurers are also mentioned. The value "1 fr." is inscribed twice.
The back of the banknote also features a plant frame. In the center, in the lower part, there is a crowned medallion. This medallion contains the heraldic shields of the cities of Ajaccio and Bastia. The value "1 fr." is found inscribed twice, as well as the inscriptions "CHAMBRES DE COMMERCE D'AJACCIO ET DE BASTIA" and "Délibérations des 30 Août 1917 et 8 Janvier 1918".
