The 1 Franc banknote issued by the Abbeville Chamber of Commerce is a testament to French local monetary history. This banknote is distinguished by its dimensions of 124 mm in length and 83 mm in width.
The front of the banknote features a frame adorned with plant motifs. It includes the inscription "VILLE D'ABBEVILLE" and "CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE DE L'ARRONDISSEMENT D'ABBEVILLE", framing the nominal value "UN FRANC". The signatures of the President and the Mayor are also present. The signature "L.LECLERC FEC CHAIX - IMP" indicates the designer, Léon Leclerc, and the printer.
The back of the banknote is characterized by a frame with geometric patterns. It includes articles relating to the Banque de France and divisional bonds, including the conditions for deposit, exchange and repayment. Article 4 stipulates that the Banque de France receives the deposit of divisional bonds for exchange. Article 5 specifies that the Banque de France does not issue divisional bonds for an amount less than 20 francs. Article 7 mentions the deposit with the Caisse municipale of the counter-value of bonds not exchanged within three months of the liquidation order, with a repayment period of five years. The inscription "CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE DE L'ARRONDISSEMENT D'ABBEVILLE" is also included.
