Description

The obverse of the coin features a bust of Liberty facing right. Liberty is wearing a Phrygian cap adorned with a crown. The engraver's signature, DANIEL-DUPUIS, is recessed below the bust. The inscription "REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE" is in capital letters around the bust.

The reverse of the coin indicates the value "1 CENTIME" as well as the year, all surrounded by an olive branch. The republican motto "LIBERTE EGALITE FRATERNITE" is inscribed in capital letters around the periphery of the coin.

Jean-Baptiste-Daniel Dupuis is the engraver responsible for the design of both sides of the coin.
