The 1 centime Ceres 1886 A coin, minted in Paris (mint identified by the letter "A"), belongs to the bronze issues of the French Third Republic. It weighs approximately 1 gram and measures 15 mm in diameter. The obverse features the bust of Ceres, the Roman goddess of agriculture, wearing a crown of wheat ears, oak leaves, and olive branches, surrounded by the legend "RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE". The reverse displays the value "1 CENTIME", the year "1886", the mint mark "A", and a fasces placed under the date, a symbol of republican authority. A laurel wreath frames the inscription. This fasces privy mark characterizes a variant by the general engraver Jean Lagrange.
