The 1 centime Ceres 1884 A coin, minted in Paris (mint identified by the letter "A"), is part of the bronze issues of the French Third Republic. It weighs approximately 1 gram and measures 15 mm in diameter. The obverse shows the bust of Ceres, Roman goddess of agriculture, wearing a crown of ears of wheat, oak leaves, and olive leaves, surrounded by the legend "RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE". The reverse features the value "1 CENTIME", the year "1884", the mint mark "A", and a fasces placed under the date, a symbol of republican authority. The inscription is surrounded by a laurel wreath. This fasces privy mark distinguishes this variant by the general engraver Jean Lagrange.
