The obverse of the coin features the Semeuse motif, a classic allegory of the French Republic, designed by Louis-Oscar Roty. The legend "REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE" is inscribed in capital letters, framing the figure of the Semeuse. The signature "O. Roty" also appears on this face, indicating the artist responsible for the original design.
The reverse of the coin depicts an olive branch, a symbol of peace and prosperity. The face value "1/2 FRANC" is positioned above the branch. The national motto "LIBERTE ? EGALITE ? FRATERNITE" is arranged around the central motif, in capital letters, highlighting the fundamental values of the French Republic. The engraver of this face is also Louis-Oscar Roty.
