Coin Finland BU Euro 2020 box set - 100 years of the University of Turku

This Brilliant Uncirculated coin set was issued by Finland in 2020 to commemorate the centenary of the University of Turku, one of the most important academic institutions in the country. Founded in 1920, the University of Turku, known in Finnish as Turun yliopisto, is a cornerstone of higher education and scientific research in Finland. This anniversary represents a significant event in the cultural and intellectual life of the country, which is why the Finnish Mint decided to honour it with an official commemorative issue.

This set features a particularly limited mintage of 1,000 copies, making it a rare numismatic issue. This low production quantity reflects the exclusive nature of this series and makes it a highly sought-after collector's item among numismatists specialising in Finnish issues or educational and historical themes.

The Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) strike quality guarantees an exceptional level of finish. This manufacturing process involves the use of carefully prepared blanks and high-precision dies, producing coins with sharp reliefs and perfectly smooth surfaces, free from the imperfections found on coins intended for general circulation. The coins contained in this set have never been put into circulation, thus preserving their original condition.

The set includes all Finnish euro coins for the year 2020, ranging from the smallest denominations to the largest in the euro series, forming a representative and complete collection of Finnish monetary production for that year. This type of official presentation set also provides optimal protection for the coins against deterioration caused by time and handling.
