The San Marino Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) coin set, dated 2002, includes all eight euro coin denominations issued by the Republic of San Marino. This is the first year of euro circulation for this state.
Each coin contained in the set has been struck with a superior strike quality, called "Brilliant Uncirculated", which is distinguished by its new and shiny appearance. This quality is specifically intended for collectors.
The national faces of the coins feature various symbols and monuments of San Marino. Thus, the 1, 2 and 5 cent coins display the Tower of Mount Titan. The Basilica of the Saint is represented on the 10 and 20 cent coins. The Three Towers of San Marino appear on the 50 cent coin. The Public Palace adorns the 1 euro coin and the portrait of Saint Marinus is visible on the 2 euro coin.
The Ufficio Filatelico e Numismatico di San Marino is the issuing authority of this set. The reverses of the coins are identical to those of other countries in the Eurozone.
The total weight of the set is 96 grams. The technical characteristics of the coins, such as the metal used, the diameter, the individual weight and the edge, comply with the official standards of circulating euro coins.
The set is the original official set, ensuring the authenticity and quality of the collection.
