Description
This Cuban banknote has a face value of 1 peso and was issued in 2016. It is part of the GM-40 series and is referenced under the designation P.128.
The obverse of the banknote, printed in black and olive green, features a portrait of José Julian Marti on the right side. The inscriptions "BANCO CENTRAL DE CUBA", "1 PESO", "ANO 2008" and "JOSE MARTI" are also present.
The reverse of the banknote illustrates Fidel Castro during the victory parade, accompanied by the inscription "1 PESO", "REPUBLICA DE CUBA" and "ENTRADA A LA HABANA 8 DE ENERO DE 1959".
The banknote's watermark represents Célia Sánchez Manduley. The dimensions of the banknote are 148 mm in length and 69 mm in width.
José Julian Marti, whose portrait appears on the obverse, was a Cuban writer. The banknote also commemorates Fidel Castro's entry into Havana on January 8, 1959.
