Description
This commemorative 2000 Colombian Peso banknote, issued in 2022, pays tribute to Débora Arango Perez. It belongs to the CC series.
The obverse of the banknote features the portrait of Débora Arango, along with representations of birds and a landscape. The reverse depicts Caño Cristales, a river located in the Serranía de la Macarena, also embellished with bird motifs. A quote from Débora Arango is inscribed: "Pepito: No espero que todos estén de acuerdo conmigo; pero yo tengo la convicción de que el arte, como manifestación de cultura, nada tiene que ver con los códigos de moral, el arte no es amoral, sencillamente su órbita, no intercepta ningún postulado ético".
The banknote's watermark reproduces the portrait of Débora Arango, as well as an electrotype representing the number "2".
