The 31 mm inner diameter of these capsules makes them compatible with coins whose size corresponds to this precise measurement. It should be noted that, unlike other sizes in the LEUCHTTURM range, this 31 mm model does not have an outer rim. On other formats, this rim usually facilitates the manual opening of the capsule while maintaining a secure closure. In the absence of this rim on this specific model, opening is done differently, which is something to bear in mind when handling.

The two-part design of the capsule ensures an airtight closure that keeps the coin in a fixed position inside, thus limiting any movement that could cause friction or damage to the relief and striking surfaces. The transparent plastic used allows easy viewing of each side of the coin, including engraving details, inscriptions and the general state of preservation, without requiring removal of the protection.
