This Canadian commemorative coin with a face value of 1 dollar was minted in 2025 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Supreme Court of Canada. It is made of steel and weighs 6.27 grams, with a diameter of 26.5 millimeters.
The obverse of the coin features a bust of King Charles III, aged 74, facing left. He is depicted wearing a suit and tie. Around the bust is the inscription "CHARLES III D·G·REX" followed by the year "2025" and the initials "SR". The full legend is "CHARLES III DEI GRATIA REX", which means "Charles III King by the Grace of God". The obverse design is the work of Steven Rosati.
The reverse of the coin features the Supreme Court of Canada building. In the foreground, the commemorative logo of the 150th anniversary is highlighted. The details of the design aim to illustrate the Court's commitment to the rule of law and its service to the Canadian population. The inscriptions on the reverse include "CANADA DOLLAR", "SUPREME COURT OF CANADA", "COUR SUPRÊME DU CANADA", "150" and the years "1875 - 2025". The reverse design is by Silvia Pecota.
The edge of the coin is smooth.
