This one ringgit banknote was issued in Brunei in 1967. It is part of the A/3 series.
The obverse of the banknote features the portrait of Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien III. The signatory's signature and the face value of the banknote can also be seen. The name of the state, "Brunei", is printed at the top of the banknote in Latin characters.
The reverse of the banknote depicts a building in Islamic architectural style, possibly a mosque or a government building. The face value "1" is visible in all four corners of the banknote. Ornamental motifs complete the reverse design.
This banknote was issued during the reign of Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien III, an important figure in the history of Brunei. The issue of this banknote demonstrates the monetary stability of the country at that time. The banknote has a dominant green color.
