This banknote was issued by Brazil in 1966. It is a 10 cruzeiros novos note, which represents a value of 10,000 cruzeiros of the old currency. The note is dark grey and polychrome, with prints made in chalcography and offset.
On the front of the note, you can see the portrait of Alberto Santos Dumont (1873-1932) on the right side. Above the portrait, there is the mention "REPÚBLICA DOS ESTADOS UNIDOS DO BRASIL". Below, the inscription "DEZ MIL CRUZEIROS / VALOR LEGAL" indicates the face value of the note, surmounted by the value in numbers and the inscription "BANCO CENTRAL". The serial number is located at the top left, followed by the sequence number in the center and the signature of the President of the Central Bank at the bottom. On the right, we find the sequence number at the top, the serial number in the center and the signature of the Minister of Finance at the bottom.
The back of the note is blue and printed in chalcography. The value in numbers is repeated between decorative elements. On the right, a panel illustrates a view of the 14 Bis in flight, an airplane designed by Santos Dumont, on a background where "REPÚBLICA DOS / ESTADOS UNIDOS DO BRASIL" is written.
The dimensions of this note are 164 mm in length and 72 mm in width. It bears the series number 2384. The printing was done by the American Bank Note Company.
