The 100 francs Cézanne banknote is an issue of the Banque de France put into circulation from 1997. This banknote, referenced as series F, bears the print date 1998 and is one of the last large-format French fiduciary notes before the transition to the euro.

The banknote pays tribute to the Post-Impressionist painter Paul Cézanne (1839?1906), a major figure in the history of Western art, born in Aix-en-Provence. His portrait is represented centrally, accompanied by iconographic elements directly inspired by his pictorial work, including references to his famous still lifes and his Provençal landscapes, among which the Montagne Sainte-Victoire, a recurring subject in his artistic output.

The graphic design of the banknote also illustrates elements of the painter's palette and tools, reinforcing the artistic identity of the overall composition. The dominant colours, in warm tones, evoke the southern atmosphere so dear to Cézanne and recall the characteristic palette of his canvases.

From a technical standpoint, this banknote features the security devices typical of French issues of that era, including watermark elements, a security thread, and raised intaglio printing perceptible to the touch. Its face value is 100 francs, the official monetary unit of France until 1 January 2002, the date of the definitive withdrawal of franc banknotes upon the transition to the single European currency.
