The 10 francs Berlioz banknote is a French banknote issued by the Banque de France. The example presented here bears the date of 5 January 1976 and belongs to series T.285.

This banknote pays tribute to Hector Berlioz (1803-1869), a major French composer of musical Romanticism and author of the Symphonie fantastique, among other works. His portrait appears centrally on the front of the note, in an engraved style characteristic of Banque de France productions of that era. The reverse of the note features a view of the château de La Côte-Saint-André, the composer's birthplace in the Isère region, accompanied by iconographic elements related to the world of music.

This type of banknote was put into circulation between 1972 and 1978, a period during which the Banque de France progressively renewed its range of banknotes.
