The 50 Belize dollar note, issued in 2025, is part of a commemorative series called "FA". This banknote, measuring 140 mm in length and 70 mm in width, features a design rich in symbols and references to Belize's history and culture.
On the front, the note features a dominant burgundy color. It includes the portrait of Philip Goldson, an important figure in Belizean history, positioned on the left side. The Belize coat of arms is also present, placed at the top of the note. A notable architectural element is depicted: the Temple of the Masks located in Lamanai. The face value of the note is integrated as a registration device, enhancing the note's security. The inscriptions are written in English, with the mention of the Central Bank of Belize and the statement that the note is legal tender for the payment of any sum in Belize, dated February 1, 2025.
The back of the note, also in burgundy with multicolored underprints, highlights major archaeological sites in Belize. It features the summit of the Mayan ruins of Caana at Caracol, as well as the Mayan ruins of El Castillo at Xunantunich. A segment of the east frieze of Xunantunich is also depicted, emphasizing the importance of the country's Mayan heritage. A holographic stripe is integrated, displaying a keel-billed toucan and the Temple of the Masks at Lamanai, adding a visually distinctive security element. A windowed security thread is also present, reinforcing protection against counterfeiting.
