Description

This banknote, with a face value of two dollars, is issued by the Central Bank of Belize in 2025. It belongs to series A.296 and measures 140 millimeters in length and 70 millimeters in width.

The front of the note, violet in color, features inscriptions in English. It shows the portrait of Philip Goldson on the left, the coat of arms of Belize at the top, and a representation of the Antelope Falls located in Mayflower Bocawina National Park, positioned on the center right. The face value is integrated as a registration device.

The inscriptions on the front include the name of the Central Bank of Belize, the mention of the issue under the authority of the Central Bank of Belize Act of 1982, the face value in words and numbers, as well as the declaration that this note is legal tender for payment in Belize, dated February 1, 2025.

The back of the note, also violet with multicolored underprints, features inscriptions in English and the face value serving as a registration device. It depicts Sapodilla Falls in Elijio Panti National Park, as well as the 1,000-foot falls in Cayo. A PureImage windowed holographic security thread, adorned with a black orchid (Prosthechea cochleata), is integrated.

The inscriptions on the back identify the Central Bank of Belize and highlight the waterfalls and rivers of Belize. The watermark of the note represents Philip Goldson and the electrotype of the number 2. This banknote was printed by De La Rue, a company based in London, United Kingdom.
