Description

This five-dollar banknote originates from Barbados. It was issued between 1975 and 1993 by the Central Bank of Barbados. This is a commemorative banknote honoring Sir Frank Worrell.

The obverse of the banknote features a portrait of Sir Frank Worrell. The name of the issuing institution "CENTRAL BANK OF BARBADOS" is printed, as well as the face value "FIVE DOLLARS". The motto "PRIDE AND INDUSTRY" is also inscribed. The legal statement indicating that the banknote is legal tender for the payment of any sum is also present.

The reverse of the banknote, printed in green with multicoloured underprints, depicts National Heroes Square, formerly Trafalgar Square, located in Bridgetown, the capital of Barbados. A rounded space for the watermark is visible on the right.

The watermark represents a map of Barbados. The banknote measures 150 mm in length and 65 mm in width. The script used on the banknote is Latin.

The five-dollar banknote of Barbados is an official means of payment and a tribute to an important national figure, Sir Frank Worrell.
