Description

Uncirculated note, without defect.

Arthur Dion Hanna (1928-2018) was a Bahamian politician who played a significant role in the political history of The Bahamas. He was a key figure in the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP), one of the major political parties in The Bahamas.

Hanna served as the Prime Minister of The Bahamas from 1967 to 1969, making him the country's second Prime Minister after gaining independence from British colonial rule in 1973. He was a member of the PLP, which was led by Sir Lynden Pindling, the country's first Prime Minister and a prominent figure in the fight for Bahamian independence.

Hanna's tenure as Prime Minister was relatively short, but it came during a critical period in The Bahamas' history as an independent nation. Under his leadership, the government focused on various social and economic reforms. He was known for his efforts to address issues related to education and social justice.

While Hanna's time as Prime Minister was relatively brief, his contributions to the political landscape of The Bahamas and the PLP's rise to power were significant. After his time in office, he continued to be involved in Bahamian politics and remained a respected figure in the country.
