This 100 Argentine Pesos banknote, issued in 1967, features distinctive characteristics on both sides.
On the obverse, the banknote features a dominant red-brown hue. It depicts a portrait of José de San Martín, an emblematic figure of Argentine independence, shown in uniform. The following inscriptions are present: "Banco Central de la República Argentina", indicating the issuing institution, followed by the statement "pagará al portador y a la vista", meaning that the central bank will pay the bearer on demand. The nominal value of "Cien Pesos" is also inscribed, accompanied by the designation "Moneda Nacional".
The reverse of the banknote, also in red-brown, showcases an artistic representation of the historical event of the "Second Foundation of Buenos Aires". This scene is based on a painting by José Moreno Carbonero, offering a visual perspective of this important episode in Argentine history. The physical dimensions of the banknote are 162 mm in length and 81 mm in width. The watermark embedded in the paper depicts the portrait of Gal. Manuel Belgrano, another key figure in Argentine history.
The series to which this banknote belongs is series F.
