The Cyprus euro coins all have different designs with a common theme for each of the three types:
- the 1, 2 and 5 cent coins depict the mouflon, a characteristic animal of the island ;

- the 1 and 2 euro coins show the Idol of Pomos dating back to the Chalcolithic period.
