This collection is dedicated to the international competition taking place in France from 8 September to 28 October 2023. The tournament matches will take place in several French cities, from Lille to Nice via Paris and Toulouse. This competition is the most prestigious rugby tournament in the world, and has been held every four years since 1987. This is the second time that France has organised it. Although it has never won the Webb Ellis Cup, the French team is one of the favourite nations to win this edition.

The face of the coin depicts a rugby player in action, running with a ball. Behind him stands an emblematic French monument and symbol of victory: the Arc de Triomphe. Beneath the arch, you can make out the goalposts, as if the Arc were in the middle of a stadium. In the sky, an oval planet refers to "planet rugby".

The reverse shows the Webb Ellis Cup, which the winner of the World Cup will have the joy of brandishing. On the left of the cup is the inscription RF, and on the right is the face value. The words "Rugby World Cup France 2023" appear all around the decoration. The logo of the Rugby World Cup France 2023 appears under the cup.
