Descripción

Kaysone Phomvihane was a statesman and political leader from Laos. He was born on December 13, 1920, in Attapeu Province, Laos, and passed away on November 21, 1992, in Vientiane, the capital of the country. He played a crucial role in Laos' history as a communist leader and served as the President of the country.

Kaysone Phomvihane became a prominent member of the Pathet Lao, a communist movement in Laos, and played a key role in the struggle for the country's independence and unification. After the Pathet Lao's victory in the Laotian Civil War, he became the Prime Minister of Laos and the leader of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the ruling communist party.

In 1991, Laos adopted a new constitution, and Kaysone Phomvihane was elected as the President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, a position he held until his death in 1992. He was a proponent of Marxist-Leninist politics and shaped the political direction of Laos for several decades.

Following his passing, Kaysone Phomvihane became an iconic figure in Lao history, and his legacy continues to influence Laos' politics and society to this day.
