The 5-franc silver coin of 1832 featuring Louis-Philippe I, minted in Strasbourg and marked with the "BB" mint mark, is a beautiful example of French numismatics during the July Monarchy. Known as the "Domard Type, High Relief", it bears the design of Joseph-François Domard, the official engraver of the Monnaie de Paris, who created this impressive high-relief effigy. This silver coin weighs 25 grams and has a diameter of 37 millimeters, in line with the standards of the era.

On the obverse side, there is a detailed profile of Louis-Philippe I, King of the French from 1830 to 1848. The engraving, in high relief, adds a distinctive depth to his face, giving him a noble and serene appearance. Surrounding his portrait is the inscription "Louis-Philippe I Roi des Français," highlighting the connection between the king and the people under the constitutional monarchy of the time.

The reverse side displays the face value "5 FRANCS" at the center, encircled by a wreath of laurel and olive branches, symbols of peace and victory. Below, the year of minting, 1832, and the "BB" mint mark from the Strasbourg mint affirm its authenticity and origin.

Highly valued by collectors and history enthusiasts alike, this coin is particularly sought after in exceptional conditions. The Domard Type is noted for its detailed high-relief engravings, which, when well-preserved, showcase the fine artistry of the era?s minting techniques. This coin serves as a true time capsule, evoking the reign of Louis-Philippe I and the political shifts in 19th-century France.
